Hello all – hope you’re having a wonderful week!
So, I thought in the run up to Christmas that I’d make a little list of present ideas for girls in their twenties. But hey, these presents could literally appeal to anyone at any age, so use as you wish!
Maybe you can use this for your Christmas list (or am I too late to the party?), or something to send to your boyfriend as a hint ?!
I’ve tried to include a mix of everything here, from super cheap to a little bit more pricey, along with physical gifts and experiences.
- A polaroid camera – such as this FujiFilm Instax Mini 9 model.
I honestly think this is such a fab present. It’s such a great way of recording your memories properly, instead of just taking your pictures on your phone and then forgetting to do anything with the photos. It’s the perfect present for anyone that loves taking photos and the immediate printout is so satisfying. Plus, the polaroid pictures are really aesthetically pleasing and a cute way to add to bedroom decor. This camera is small enough you can take it anywhere – holidays, pre drinks, parties, festivals, family events, even just on a walk. I love how compact and little it is, even though it can do so much!
- A Kindlehttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0186FESVC/ref=asc_df_B0186FESVC56823076/?tag=googshopuk-21&creative=22110&creativeASIN=B0186FESVC&linkCode=df0&hvadid=205228866603&hvpos=1o2&hvnetw=g&hvrand=15145796164639986549&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9045049&hvtargid=aud-543776533562:pla-329877987056&th=1&psc=1
I’m not sure if the Kindle hype is still a thing, but I love them. I very stupidly dropped my Kindle in the bath last year, so it is no longer, but I’m saving up to get a new one. This one is the cheapest option at £59.99 which isn’t at all bad for everything you get, or on Amazon you can get the Kindle on a payment plan: £12 a month for 5 months – I’m tempted!
In an age where reading is constantly encouraged and is now actually an escape from social media, a Kindle is a very useful thing to have. Kindle’s are so useful and convenient, you can literally buy and download a book in seconds – some books are even free. You can read them literally anywhere – they’re very handy for the bus or train or tube. Perfect for a lunch break read at work or a study break read in the library if you’re at uni! I used to love bringing mine on trips away as it meant you didn’t have to weigh down your luggage with 4 or 5 books. Understandably some might miss the look and feel of a traditional book, but I personally believe all of the benefits of a Kindle easily outweigh this issue.
- A posh candlehttp://www.thewhitecompany.com/uk/Winter-Collection/p/winter-collection
So here I’ve chosen a classic favourite – the White Company Winter Candle, but in terms of candles, you can find an endless choice in department stores such as John Lewis or little independent shops. There’s nothing like lighting a candle to make a girl feel grown up, life together and have a beautiful smelling room. Also, they always add an elegant and sophisticated touch to a room. You can never really go wrong with a candle and they can range from a fiver to pretty pricey.
- Birchbox beauty box subscriptionhttps://www.birchbox.co.uk/gift
If you haven’t heard of Birchbox, they offer a monthly beauty box subscription service. You can choose a 3, 6 or year long subscription. Inside the box, there’s 5 different types of products for skincare, make up or hair. They include some fantastic and high end brands – you’re getting a lot for your money! I think it’s such a clever idea and a great way to try out new brands and products. For any beauty addicts, this is a must and a super thoughtful present.
- Something personalisedhttps://theazurinastore.com/
I’ve recently found the Azurina website and I’m in love! Here you can get totes, purses, pouches, phone cases, luggage tags and card holders personalised with your initials or even just kept plain. They’re very on trend and come in a huge range of colours and styles. My personal favourite is the Black Croc Belt Bag:
The phone cases, card holders and key rings are fantastic value and the ideal sort of stocking filler present, or little gift for a friend. Also, having a load of personalised stuff is veeeery sophisticated.
- 2019 planner
Following on from the personalisation theme, how about a personalised 2019 diary / planner? My faves are the ones from Papier:
These are beautifully produced and very classy. You can personalise them or choose to leave them blank. Either way, any sort of diary is always a great present. Let’s be honest, we all love that feeling of getting a fresh new diary and all those productivity vibes that come with it. There’s nothing like smoothing out a blank page and getting your to do list and appointments down on paper. Suddenly, your life is together!
- A treatment at the spa
So no link for this one, because a spa is pretty dependent on where you live. But you get the gist. There’s nothing better than a facial or a massage at the spa, or even a mani or a pedi. These sorts of things are a massive treat since you don’t really tend to spend the money on them yourself. It’s also a really thoughtful present, since you’re recognising that that person might like a little time out to relax.
A more cost effective option for this one (since treatments can be quite expensive for a one off) is to offer to give them a facial, massage (heads up boyfriends) or a mini mani/pedi. Or buy a load of face masks!
- Everyday jewellery
Jewellery can be pretty expensive and expensive jewellery is hard to buy for someone as it’s very personal. So here I’ve gone for a more mid range jewellery option, specifically for an every day, cool kinda vibe.
I LOVE these earrings from & Other Stories: https://www.stories.com/en_gbp/jewellery/earrings/product.star-hoop-earrings-gold.0629736001.html
& Other Stories jewellery is absolutely fab and definitely smart enough to look special – but these earrings are only £11!
If any of my gift ideas took your fancy, I’ve got plenty more for a follow up post soon!
